Am Donnerstag erwachte ich wie fast immer sehr früh... und nach nur 5 Stunden Schlaf! Es scheint als habe ich keine Zeit zum Schlafen, denn hier auf Mahé gibt es viel zu entdecken und noch mehr Arbeit: Mein Blog beschäftigt mich täglich 3-4 Stunden mit meinen vielen Fotos...

On Thursday, as almost always, I woke up very early... and after only 5 hours of sleep! It seems like I don't have time to sleep, because here on Mahé there is a lot to discover and even more work: my blog occupies me for 3-4 hours a day with all my photos...

Zur Erfrischung ging ich kurz ins Meer an meinem Hausstrand Anse aux Courbes und traf Tyron. Er hört mir immer sehr aufmerksam zu und brachte mir eine Aloe Vera, weil ich vor einer Woche fragte, ob die hier wächst. : )

To refresh I dipped briefly into the sea on my house beach Anse aux Courbes and met Tyron. He always listens very carefully to me and brought me an aloe vera because a week ago I asked whether it grows here. : )

Kurz vor 14 Uhr fuhr ich nach Victoria, das ich nach 20 km und 30 Minuten erreichte. Heute wollte ich mich bei der Immigration erkundigen, wie das genau mit der Visumverlängerung geht... Ich hatte bei der Einreise eins für 1 Monat erhalten und man kann es nur in der Hauptstadt Victoria verlängern. Wenn ich auf andere Inseln reisen und planen möchte, ist es kompliziert jedesmal nach Victoria zurückzukommen... Claudia riet mir es doch gleich für + 2 Monate zu beantragen! - Klar machte ich das, meinen Pass hatte ich vorsorglich eingepackt! Ich schickte die notwendigen Dokumente per e-mail  und kann meine Pass in einer Woche am 3.12. hoffentlich mit dem erwünschten Stempel abholen…

Shortly before 2 pm I drove to Victoria, which I reached after 20 km and 30 minutes. Today I wanted to find out from immigration how exactly the visa extension works... I received one for 1 month when I entered the country and it can only be extended in the capital Victoria. If I want to travel to other islands and plan accordingly, it is difficult to come back to Victoria every time... Claudia advised me to apply for it for + 2 months right now! - Of course I did that, I had brought my passport as a precaution! I sent the necessary documents by e-mail and can get my passport back in a week on December 3^rd, hopefully with the desired stamp...

Da ich schon mal in der Stadt war, besorgte ich Wanderkarten bei der National Park Authority und eine Handyhülle um unterwasser fotografieren zu können... Dann ging es bergauf entlang der Sans Souci Road durch den Morne  National Park zur Westküste: Port Glaudy und Port Launay bis zum äusserst westlichen Punkt Mahés: Baie Ternay Marine.

Since I was already in town, I got hiking maps from the National Park Authority and a cell phone case to take underwater photos... Then I drove uphill along Sans Souci Road through Morne National Park to the west coast: Port Glaudy and Port Launay until the extreme western point of Mahés: Baie Ternay Marine.

Auf der Hinfahrt hatte ich das einladende Restaurant Del Place (https://delplace-seychelles.sc) ins Auge gefasst und als ich ausstieg, fuhren Lisa und Björn zu. Die beiden hatte ich am Montag an unserem Strand kennengelernt und seither haben wir immer wieder versucht abzumachen - heute klappt es ohne und wir genossen das Abendessen in wundervoller Atmosphäre und mit ebensolchem Gesprächsstoff! : ) Zurück nach Pointe au Sel folgte ich Björn und Lisa in der Dunkelheit zuerst Richtung Süden der Westküste entlang, über einen der Pässe und erreichte dann schliesslich mein Zuhause Le Domaine de Bacova (http://www.seychellesvillasbacova.com) nach total 65 km heute.

On the way there, I spottet the inviting Del Place restaurant (https://delplace-seychelles.sc) and when I got out of the car, Lisa and Björn drove up. I met the two on Monday on our beach and since then we have tried again and again to find a date - today it works without trying and we enjoyed dinner in a great atmosphere and with just as much to talk about! : ) Back to Pointe au Sel I just had to follow Björn and Lisa in the dark, first south along the west coast, over one of the passes and then finally I reached my home Le Domaine de Bacova (http://www.seychellesvillasbacova.com) after a total of 65 km today.

Am Freitag begann ich meinen Tag mit der üblichen Joggingroute barfuss im Bikini entlang der Turtle Bay. Da die Flut Frisch am Abklingen war konnte ich sogar richtig schwimmen! : )

On Friday I started my day with the usual jogging route barefoot in my bikini along Turtle Bay. Since the tide was freshly subsideing, I was even able to have a proper swim! : )

Es war seeehr heiss, so dass ich erst um 16:30 Uhr aus dem Haus ging um den Rest der Mitte der Insel auszuchecken... Es gibt nur wenige Tankstellen auf Mahé, so fuhr ich zuerst nach Anse Royal tanken und dann über die Passstrasse Les Cannelles (engste Verbindung) zur Westküste an die Anse à la Mouche, wo ich gestern schon war. Hier hatte es gerade geregnet und war daher bedeutend angenehmer. Ich fuhr der Westküste entland Richtung Norden bis nach Port Glaud, wo ich gestern mit Lisa und Björn gegessen hatte.

It was veeery hot, so I didn't leave the house until 4:30 pm to check out the rest of the centre of the island... There are only a few gas stations on Mahé, so I first drove to Anse Royal to refuel and then over the pass road Les Cannelles (closest connection) to the west coast to Anse à la Mouche, where I was yesterday. It had just rained here and therefore was cooler. I drove north along the west coast to Port Glaud, where I had dinner with Lisa and Björn yesterday.

Nach einem regnerischen Sonnenuntergang an der Grande Anse fuhr ich zurück an die Ostküste. Bevor ich meine Tour für heute nach insgesamt 55 km beendete, genoss ich ein herrliches Abendessen (Vorspeise Crevettencocktail mit Liebe und Dessert Creme de Coco) im Maison Marengo (https://maison-marengo-kuisin-et-vins.business.site) bei Kevin, Mary-Celine und Dinesh und live Musik... : )

After a rainy sunset at the Grande Anse I drove back to the east coast. Before I finished my tour for today after a total of 55 km, I enjoyed a wonderful dinner (starter prawn cocktail with love and dessert creme de coco) at Maison Marengo (https://maison-marengo-kuisin-et-vins.business.site) with Kevin, Mary-Celine and Dinesh and live music ... : )

Wir haben eine Bäckerei ganz in der Nähe des Le Domaine de Bacova (http://www.seychellesvillasbacova.com) und am Dienstag Morgen schaffte ich es endlich dorthin - lecker! : )

Kurz vor Mittag machte ich mich auf zu Teddy von Victoria Car Hire (victoriacarhire@hotmail.co.uk) im Cap. Ich bekam seinen Kontakt von Andy, der mich am Sonntag per Autostopp mitgenommen hatte. Da es sehr heiss war, versuchte ich mein Glück erneut per Anhalter, was gut funktionierte aber ich verlief mich dann doch, so dass ein Angestellter von Teddy mich in der unerträglichen Hitze abholen kam… Der liebenswerte Teddy machte mir ein tolles Angebot und so kamen wir ins Geschäft: Ich übernahm den Kia Picanto mit 54125 km für mindestens 4 Tage und fuhr zurück nach Hause um mein Tagesgepäck abzuholen...

Shortly before noon I went to see Teddy of Victoria Car Hire (victoriacarhire@hotmail.co.uk) in the Cap. I got his contact from Andy, who gave me a lift on Sunday. As it was very hot, I tried my luck again by hitchhiking, which worked out fine but I got lost and an employee of Teddy’s came to pick me up in the unbearable heat… Lovely Teddy made me a great offer and that's how we got into business! : ) I took over the Kia Picanto with 54125 km for a minimum of 4 days and drove back home to pick up my bag for the day...

Um 13:30 ging es dann endlich los auf meine erste Tour (60 km) der Ostküste entlang Richtung Süden und ein Gefühl von Freiheit pur stellte sich ein... Die Insel Mahé ist ca. 8 x 27 km gross aber sehr kurvenreich. Hier auf den Seychellen wird übrigens auf der linken Seite gefahren und die Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzungen sind wie folgt: 40 km/h innerorts, 60 km/h ausserorts und 80 km/h auf der kurzen Highway nach Victoria - also schön gemütlich! : )

Zuerst fuhr ich der bereits bekannten Anse Royal entlang ganz in den Süden und besuchte die Police Bay, Petite Police und die wildromantische Anse Intendance. Da es bewölkt war, lud der Strand nicht gerade zum Verweilen ein, so dass ich der Westküste entlang Richtung Norden weiterfuhr: Anse Takamaka, Baie Lazare, Anse Soleil und Petite Anse.

At 1:30 pm I finally started my first tour (60 km) along the east coast direction south and a feeling of pure freedom set in... The island of Mahé is approx. 8 x 27 km in size but very curvy. By the way, here in the Seychelles you drive on the left side and the speed limits are as follows: 40 km/h in urban areas, 60 km/h rural areas and 80 km/h on the short highway to Victoria - thus very relaxed! : )

First I drove along the already known Anse Royal all the way south and visited Police Bay, Petite Police and the wildly romantic Anse Intendance. Since it was overcast, the beach was not really inviting me to stay, so I continued north along the west coast: Anse Takamaka, Baie Lazare, Anse Soleil and Petite Anse.

Zum Abkühlen und Schwimmen fuhr ich zurück zur Anse Takamaka Beach und genoss meinen ersten wunderschönen Sonnenuntergang auf Mahé! : ) Das Seafood Restaurant Chez Batista (http://villachezbatista.com-seychelles.com) hatte offen und ich genoss zur Feier des Tages einen Lobster, nein: es waren 2 auf dem Teller! Dazu so viele Beilagen, die ich beim besten Willen nicht schaffte und einpacken liess!

To cool off and swim I drove back to Anse Takamaka Beach and enjoyed my first beautiful sunset on Mahé! : ) The seafood restaurant Chez Batista (http://villachezbatista.com-seychelles.com) was open and I enjoyed a lobster to celebrate the day, no: there were 2 on my plate! In addition it was served with many side dishes which I couldn't manage and had packed to take with me for breakfast tomorrow!

Am Mittwoch Morgen erwachte ich ziemlich spät: 9:30 Uhr und zu aller Überraschung war ein Stromunterbruch... Sharon sagte mir, dass er bis 15:30 Uhr dauern würde und die ganzen Gegend betrifft… - OK, so beschloss ich ohne meinen Espresso mich zuerst mal barfuss im Bikini frei zu laufen! Als ich eine Stunde später zurück war, bereitet Sharon mir meinen Kaffee und Tee auf Beryls und Henris Gasherd zu und wenig später kam auch der Strom zurück. : )

On Wednesday morning I woke up quite late: 9:30 am and to my surprise there was a power cutoff... Sharon told me that it was in the whole area and would last until 3:30 pm… - OK, so I decided to go for a run first, barefoot in a bikini without my espresso! When I was back an hour later, Sharon prepared my coffee and tea on Beryl's and Henri's gas stove and a little later the electricity came back. : )

Nun da ich ein Mietauto hatte, fuhr ich mal schnell die 2 km zur Anse Royal um endlich meine neue Schnorchelausrüstung auszuprobieren... wie cool!

Now that I had a rental car, I quickly drove the 2 km to Anse Royal to finally try out my new snorkelling equipment... how cool!

Um 16:30 Uhr als es nicht mehr ganz so heiss war, nahm ich die Passstrasse via Bon Espoir (ca. 10 km) zur Westseite um den Rest des Südens Mahé zu erkunden. Ich besuchte die Anse Boileau, Anse Louis und die Anse à la Mouche zum Sonnenuntergang...

At 4:30 pm when it wasn't that hot anymore, I took the pass road via Bon Espoir (approx. 10 km) to the west side to explore the rest of the south of Mahé. I visited Anse Boileau, Anse Louis and Anse à la Mouche for sunset...

In Anse à la Mouche fand ich eines der wenigen offenen Restaurants zum Abendessen: Anchor Café (https://www.facebook.com/Anchor-Cafe-191301487731744). Dort genoss ich einen ausgezeichneten Red Snapper, bevor ich über die Passstrasse via Les Cannelles (kürzeste Ost-West-Verbindung) zurück nach Pointe au Sel fuhr um meine heutige Tour nach insgesamt 40 km zu beenden.

On Anse à la Mouche I found one of the few open restaurants for dinner: Anchor Café (https://www.facebook.com/Anchor-Cafe-191301487731744). There I enjoyed an excellent red snapper before heading back to Pointe au Sel over the pass via Les Cannelles (shortest east-west connection) to finish my today's tour after a total of 40 km.
