Wochenende war es richtig heiss... und keine Abkühlung in Sicht! Im Wasser oder
Schatten mit einer Brise war es auszuhalten... Joggen ging ich erst abends,
dafür barfuss im Schatten der Bäume der langen Turtle Bay entlang...
It was really hot this weekend... and no cooling off in sight! It was bearable in the water or shade with a breeze or... Jogging I only went in the evenings, but barefoot in the shade of the trees along the long Turtle Bay...

Sonntag traf ich mich um 5:30 Uhr mit Tyron zum Sonnenaufgang an unserem Hausstrand
Anse aux Courbes - ein grossartiges Spektakel mit ebensolcher Kulisse! Es war
so herrlich, dass ich meine Yogamatte ausrollte und 45 Minuten Yoga machte! : )
On Sunday I met Tyron at 5:30 am for sunrise on our house beach Anse aux Courbes - a great spectacle with just such a backdrop! It was so lovely that I rolled out my yoga mat and did 45 minutes of yoga! : )

Um 8 Uhr
stiess Daniel an der Bushaltestation dazu - wir wollten nach Anse Royal zur Messe
in die Holy Saviour‘s Anglican Kirche. Der Bus schien aber zu spät zu kommen,
so dass wir ins Auto eines Freundes von Daniel hüpfen durften, der uns
rechtzeitig dort auslud. Die Messe dauerte eine Stunde und wurde in Kreol und
Englisch mit viel fröhlichem Gesang abgehalten - fast so schön wie auf Tonga in
der Südsee!
Daniel
machte sich danach auf den Heimweg und Tyron und ich zur Abkühlung ins türkisblaue
Meer der Anse Royal. Da wir noch nichts gegessen hatten, marschierten wir zum Lunch
zum Kafe Kreol (https://www.facebook.com/kafekreol) um uns von Vittorio eine seiner super Pizzen backen zu lassen -
mmmhhhhh! : )
At 8 am Daniel joined us at the bus stop - we wanted to go to Anse Royal for mass to the Holy Saviour's Anglican Church. The bus seemed to be late, but we could hop into the car of a friend of Daniel's, who unloaded us there in good time. The mass lasted an hour and was held in Creole and English with lots of happy singing - almost as beautiful as on Tonga in the South Pacific!
Daniel then went back home and Tyron and I to cool off in the turquoise blue sea of Anse Royal. Since we hadn't eaten yet, we marched to the Kafe Kreol (https://www.facebook.com/kafekreol) for lunch to have one of Vittorio’s great pizzas - mmmhhhhh! : )

Wie jedes
Wochenende feiern die Seychellois Parties am Strand... sie essen, trinken,
rauchen und hinterlassen viel Abfall... Wie bereits letzten Montag konnte ich
nicht anders als mein Projekt clean & clear aufgreifen und die hübsche Anse
aux Courbes säubern. Diesmal begann ich
am nördlichen Ende schon auf dem Weg zum Strand: Nach nur 15 Minuten war ich
tropfnass und mein erster Sack voll, zudem stapelte ich alles auf einen Haufen,
das zu gross war! Daniel und Tyron kamen mir just zur Hilfe um alles zur
nächsten Abfalldeponie zu tragen! : ) In nur 1 Stunde sammelten wir weitere 5
Säcke, vor allem mit viel(en) Glas(scherben) und rostigen Bierdeckeln... Dann
war eine erfrischende Abkühlung angesagt und ich probierte meine neue Schnorchelausrüstung
aus, die passte aber wegen Ebbe nicht wirklich gefordert wurde.
Like every weekend, the Seychellois party on the beach... they eat, drink, smoke and leave a lot of waste... Like last Monday, I couldn't help but pick up my clean & clear project and clean up the pretty Anse aux Courbes. This time I started at the northern end on the way to the beach: After only 15 minutes I was dripping wet and my first bag was full, additionally I piled everything that was too big! Daniel and Tyron came just in time to help to carry everything to the next waste container! : ) In only 1 hour we collected another 5 bags, especially with a lot of (broken) glass and rusty beer tops... Then a refreshing cooling was announced and I tried out my new snorkelling equipment; it fitted but I couldn’t really challenge it because of the low tide.

Cyrill nur wenige Meter vom Le Domaine de Bacova (http://www.seychellesvillasbacova.com) entfernt.
Ich genoss Haichutney (es gibt noch Kurioseres hier auf den Inseln: zB.
Fledermauscurry…), Tintenfischcurry, gegrillten Fisch, Sauce Kreol und
Mangosalat - ausser am Sonntag Abend, als er früher schloss, da er nichts mehr
hatte: Da stand ich nun um 19 Uhr in der Dunkelheit mit meinem Teller und
Besteck... ich machte kurzerhand Autostopp zum Maison Marengo, aber auch das war
zu! Der nette Andy fuhr mich zurück nach Pointe au Sel und hinterliess mir die
Telefonnummer seines Onkels Teddy, der Autos vermietet. Ich kaufte das Nötigste
ein und bereitete mir zuhause einen leckeren Thunfischsalat zu... : )

I enjoyed my dinners at Hot Rock

just a few meters from Le Domaine de Bacova
(http://www.seychellesvillasbacova.com). I enjoyed shark chutney (there are
even more curious things here on the islands: e.g. bat curry...), octopus
curry, grilled fish, creole sauce and mango salad - except on Sunday evening
when he closed earlier because he had nothing left: There I was now standing
around 7 pm in the dark with my plate and cutlery... I spontaneously decided to
hitchhike to Maison Marengo, but that too was closed! Nice Andy drove me back
to Pointe au Sel and left me the phone number of his uncle Teddy, who rents out
cars. I went shopping for the essentials and prepared a delicious tuna salad at
home... : )
