Am Tag
meiner Ankunft hier auf La Digue am 31.12.2020, hatte ich meinen ersten
Blickkontakt mit Seychelle der Bikini Bottom Bar (https://www.facebook.com/BikiniBottomSeychelles)
beim Vorbeifahren mit dem Taxi vom Jetty... und ich fühlte good vibes (gute
Schwingungen)... Abends kehrte ich zu Fuss zurück zur Anse Severe und die good
vibes bestätigten sich! : ) Bikini Bottom ist übrigens nur gerade 5 Minuten mit
dem Velo und 15 Minuten zu Fuss vom Hotel Patatran (https://www.patatranseychelles.com)
entfernt und ein grandioser Ort für spektakuläre Sonnenuntergänge mit Praslin
im Hintergrund!
On the day of my arrival here on La Digue on December 31st 2020, I had my first eye contact with Seychelle of the Bikini Bottom Bar (https://www.facebook.com/BikiniBottomSeychelles) while driving by with a taxi from the jetty... and I felt good vibes... In the evening I returned to Anse Severe on foot and the good vibes confirmed! : ) By the way, Bikini Bottom is only 5 minutes by bike and 15 minutes on foot from Hotel Patatran (https://www.patatranseychelles.com) and a great place for spectacular sunsets with Praslin in the background!

Vor 10
Jahren kehrte Seychelles und Tommys Familie Kalifornien den Rücken und zog in
die Heimat der Mutter Helen... und hier auf La Digue wuchs die Idee der
Geschwister bis am 19.02.2019 die Bikini Bottom offiziell eröffnet wurde.
Seychelle erklärte mir, dass La Digue dringend einen Ort brauchte, wo vor allem
die jungen Leute sich treffen können: Für Spiele am Strand und Austausch mit
oder ohne Drink - ihr geht es nicht in erster Linie um den Verkauf, sondern um
eine gute Atmosphäre zu kreieren und gute Energien zu teilen... : ))
Der Name
Bikini Bottom entstand aus Respekt gegenüber der endemischen Coco de Mer, des
grössten Samens unseres Planeten Erde... Die weibliche Nuss erinnert
unweigerlich an das Unterteil einer Frau (der männliche Blütenstand übrigens an
einen riesigen Penis) - Bikini Bottom ist jedoch bekleidet! ; )
Ten years ago Seychelle and Tommy's family turned their backs on California and moved to their mother Helen's homeland... and here on La Digue the idea of the siblings grew until the Bikini Bottom was officially opened on February 19th, 2019. Seychelle explained to me that La Digue urgently needed a place where in particular young people could hang out: for games on the beach and exchanges with or without a drink - her main concern is not about selling, but about creating a good atmosphere and share good energies... : ))
The name Bikini Bottom was born out of respect for the endemic Coco de Mer, the largest seed on our planet earth... The female nut inevitably reminds of the lower part of a woman (the male inflorescence, by the way, looks like a huge penis) - however, Bikini Bottom is dressed! ; )

Als ich
auf La Digue ankam, war die Bikini Bottom fast normal offen. Als dann der
Corona Virus auf die Seychellen übergriff, wurde die Bar wie alles andere
geschlossen... Seychelle kämpfte erfolgreich darum ihren Laden für Take-Away zu
öffnen, als dann aber die Coronafälle zunahmen, wurde sie wieder geschlossen.
Wie bereits erwähnt, öffnen sich die Seychellen für alle Touristen ab dem 25.
März... so auch ihre Betriebe, die zuvor vom Gesundheitsamt inspiziert werden
müssen...
Wie alle
andern, nutzten auch Tommy, Seychelle und ihr Freund Phillip die Zeit um ihr
Geschäft auf Vordermann zu bringen und den neuen Regelungen anzupassen. Ich
durfte ein weiteres clean & clear Mahnmal für die Anse Severe malen und
dann folgte eine geniale Umsetzung gemeinsamer Ideen für die Bemalung von
Barstühlen: Seychelle und Phillip bemalten die Hocker mit den Farben der
Seychellen Flagge und ich durfte sie mit ihren Bedeutungen beschriften -
natürlich jeden mit einer persönlichen Note:

When I got to La Digue, Bikini Bottom was almost open normally. When the Corona virus reached out to the Seychelles, the bar was closed like everything else... Seychelle successfully fought to open their shop for take-away, but when corona cases increased, it was closed again. As already mentioned, the Seychelles will open to all tourists from March 25th... including their establishments, which first must be inspected by the health authority...
Like everyone else, Tommy, Seychelle and her boyfriend Phillip used the time to whip their business into shape and adapt it to the new regulations. I was asked to paint another clean & clear board for Anse Severe and then a brilliant implementation of joint ideas for the painting of bar stools followed: Seychelle and Phillip painted the stools in the colours of the Seychelles flag and I labelled them with their meanings - each one with a personal touch of course!

Mittwoch, dem 10.3. ist die Bikini Bottom mit ihren gesunden Drinks aus dem
eigenen organischen Garten wieder offen - juhuiii!!! : )
Since Wednesday, March 10th, Bikini Bottom is open again with healthy drinks from the own organic garden - hoooray!!! : )

Es blieb
auch genügend Zeit für meine üblichen sportlichen Betätigungen wie Yoga,
Jogging und Schwimmen... Zudem unternahm ich mit Tom am Mittwoch früh einen
Power-Walk von La Passe zur Grand Anse zum Sonnenaufgang und zurück: 1 Stunde
15 Minuten. Da ich schon mal mit dem Fahrrad unterwegs war, fuhr ich am Hotel
Patatran vorbei und weiter entlang der Ostküste bis zum Ende der Strasse. So
war ich vor dem Frühstück schlussendlich 45 Minuten auf dem Velo! : ) - Ja,
hier gefällt mir das Radfahren - es hat wenig bis keinen Autoverkehr...

There was also enough time for my usual sports activities such as yoga,
jogging and swimming... In addition, I went on a power walk with Tom on
Wednesday early morning from La Passe to Grand Anse for sunrise and back: 1
hour 15 minutes. Since I was already on my bike, I passed Hotel Patatran and
continued along the east coast to the end of the street. Thus finally I was 45
minutes on the bike before having breakfast! : ) - Yes, I like cycling here -
there is little or no traffic...
