Am Mittwoch
durfte ich als Dank für meine bereits 2 Monate hier im Hotel Patatran einen
Stock höher in den absolut genialen Captain's Room wechseln! Dieses Zimmer hat
3 Balkone und wird von Licht nur so durchflutet... und die sonst schon
atemberaubende Aussicht lässt sich von hier oben ganz besonders geniessen! Ich
fühle mich wie eine Prinzessin und wollte am ersten Tag gar nicht mehr aus
meinem Zimmer... bis der Hunger mich trieb. : ))
On Wednesday, in appreciation for my already 2-months stay here at the Hotel Patatran, I was able to move one floor up to the absolutely brilliant Captain's Room! This room has 3 balconies and is flooded with light... and the already breathtaking view can be especially enjoyed from up here! I feel like a princess and on the first day didn't want to leave my room... until hunger drove me. : ))

Am
Donnerstag wanderte ich das mir letzte fehlende Stück auf La Digue: Anse
Fourmis - Anse Caiman. Da diese Strecke nur bei Ebbe möglich ist (weil es ca.
1/2 h watend durchs Meer geht), kam Tom um 11 Uhr vor der Ebbe zu mir. Unsere
Wanderung führte uns weiter zur Anse Cocos, Petit und Grand Anse und
schliesslich zurück zum Hotel Patatran via La Passe. Total legten wir 13 km
hinter uns, wozu wir 3 1/2 h pure Wanderzeit benötigten. - Nun habe ich in
Etappen die ganze Insel La Digue (3 x 5 km) umwandert!
On Thursday I hiked the last missing piece on La Digue: Anse Fourmis - Anse Caiman. Since this route is only possible at low tide (because it is about 1/2 hour wading through the sea), Tom came to my place at 11 am before low tide. Our hike took us further to Anse Cocos, Petit and Grand Anse and finally back to Hotel Patatran via La Passe. We covered a total of 13 km, for which we needed 3 1/2 hours of pure hiking time. - Now I hiked around the whole island of La Digue (3 x 5 km) in stages!

Am
Sonntag Nachmittag machte ich mich nochmals auf zu meinem wilden und einsamen
Lieblingsstrand Anse Songe... zuerst eine halbe Stunde mit dem Velo bis zum
westlichen Ende der Grand Anse und dann 10 Minuten zu Fuss über Stock und
Stein. Unterwegs konnte ich endlich eine weitere endemische Vogelart der
Seychellen ablichten: die Paradies Fruchttaube - und zwar gleich ein turtelndes
Paar! : ) Der Zeitpunkt (ich richte mich nach dem Gezeitenkalender: heute war
eine kleine Flut) in der Anse Songe war perfekt, denn mein Whirlpool war die
ganzen 3 Stunden in Betrieb und es war bewölkt, also super zum Verweilen! : )
On Sunday afternoon I went once again to my wild and lonely favourite beach Anse Songe... first, half an hour by bike to the western end of Grand Anse and then 10 minutes on foot over hill and dale. On the way I was finally able to take a picture of another endemic bird species of the Seychelles: the Seychelles blue pigeon – namely a couple billing and cooing! : ) The time (I follow the tide calendar: there was a small high tide today) at Anse Songe was perfect, because my whirlpool was in operation for the whole 3 hours and it was cloudy, so great to linger! : )

Es sieht
so aus, als ob die Seychellen bald zur 'Normalität' zurückkehren: Ab 25. März,
gemäss offizieller Verkündigung, sind die Seychellen offen für alle, d.h. nur
ein negativer Corona-Test 72 Stunden vor Abflug ist nötig. Wie bereits erwähnt,
haben sich die Seychellois vor 2 Generationen abhängig vom Tourismus gemacht,
was für sie die Normalität bedeutet... So wird hier die Impfung gegen Corona
kaum hinterfragt und fast alle liessen sich impfen um Touristen empfangen zu
können... Nun sieht man überall die Leute ihre Unterkünfte und Restaurants bereit
machen für die Inspektion des Gesundheitsamtes...
Meine
Familie versucht bereits seit Januar mich zu besuchen, aber die Flüge werden
fortlaufend gestrichen! Zudem stellt sich jetzt das Problem mit der Rückreise
und Quarantäne! Auch ich hab noch keinen Rückflug mit der Edelweiss gefunden,
der am 14.2. annulliert wurde… - Kommt Zeit, kommt Rat! : )
It looks like the Seychelles will soon return to 'normality': From March 25, according to the official announcement, the Seychelles will open to all, i.e. only a negative corona test 72 hours prior departure is necessary. As already mentioned, the Seychellois made themselves dependent on tourism 2 generations ago, which means normality for them... Consequently, vaccination against Corona is hardly questioned here and almost everyone was vaccinated to be able to receive tourists... Now you can see people everywhere getting their accommodations and restaurants ready for inspection by the health department...
My family has been trying to come over and visit me since January, but the flights are constantly being canceled! In addition, there is now the problem to return back and its quarantines! I haven't found a return flight with Edelweiss yet, which was scheduled for February 14th and was canceled without prior notice... - Time will tell! : )

hat sich eine andere Türe geöffnet und der Termin für meinen Segeltörn hat sich
bestätigt: Ich hab das riesengrosse
Glück auf dem Katamaran Turquoise (https://www.voileseychelles.com)
einen freien Platz zu ergattern und werde am 17. März ab Mahé los segeln mit
Ziel Bird und Silhouette Island... : ))

In the meantime, another door has opened and the date for my sailing
trip has been confirmed: I am utmost lucky to get a free place on the catamaran
Turquoise (https://www.voileseychelles.com)
and will leave Mahé on March 17th with destination Bird and
Silhouette Island... :))
