Freitag, der 13.
Friday the 13th
Nach dieser turbulenten Woche, würde ich auch einen Freitag, den 13. meistern!
Da ich auf einen Abendflug mit Edelweiss (https://www.flyedelweiss.com)
zu den Seychellen gebucht war, hatte ich den ganzen Tag Zeit zum Packen und
Erledigen, was ich diese Woche noch nicht hatte... der Tag erwies sich als
Quersumme der ganzen Woche: Noch nie hatte ich mich so lange und intensiv für
eine Reise vorbereitet! In der heutigen Krisenzeit dauerte es einen
geschlagenen Monat mit Unterstützung per e-mail mit Judeline vom Tourisme des
Seychelles... die Einreisebestimmungen änderten ständig und ich wollte 3 Monate
bleiben... Diese Woche Montag habe ich endlich einen Flug für den 20. November
gebucht, aber als ich am nächsten Tag erfuhr, dass die Einreisebestimmungen ab
16.11. für Schweizer ändern - Corona Test max. 48 Stunden vor Flug (fast
unmöglich, jetzt waren es immerhin max. 72 Stunden) und 5 Tage Quarantäne
(diese Woche keine) - machte ich eine Umbuchung auf kommenden Freitag, den 13.
November... Ich konnte auch meinen Corona-Test auf Mittwoch umbuchen: Aber als
wäre es nicht schon genug (auch ein Labor zu finden, das nicht 5-6 Tage für das
Resultat benötigt), lief mein Auto nicht an... Hansruedi brachte mir eines von
Beromünster und ich machte den Test mit nur 15 Minuten Verspätung! : ) Am
Donnerstag als ich mein negatives Resultatergebnis (in Englisch) erhielt,
loggte ich mich gleich beim Seychelles Health Travel Departement (https://seychelles.govtas.com)
ein und transferierte die notwendigen Dokumente um in max. 6 Stunden ein OK zu
erhalten. Ich wusste also bis am Donnerstag Abend nicht, ob ich am folgenden
Tag fliegen könnte…
After this turbulent week, I would also master a Friday the 13th! Since I was booked on an evening flight with Edelweiss (https://www.flyedelweiss.com) to the Seychelles, I had the whole day to pack and do what I didn't have time for this week... the day turned out to be the sum of the whole week: It never took me this long and intensively to prepare for a trip! In today's crisis it took a full month with support by e-mail with Judeline from Tourisme des Seychelles... the entry regulations changed constantly and I wanted to stay 3 months... This week Monday I finally booked a flight for November 20th, but when I found out the next day that the entry requirements change for Swiss from November 16th - Corona test max. 48 hours before flight (almost impossible, now it was a maximum of 72 hours) and 5 days of quarantine (none this week) - I changed my booking to coming Friday, November 13th... I was also able to do my corona test a week earlier on Wednesday: But as if it wasn't enough (also to find a laboratory that doesn't need 5-6 days for the result), my car didn't start... Hansruedi brought me one from Beromünster and I did the test only 15 Minutes late! : ) On Thursday when I received my negative result (in English), I immediately logged into the Seychelles Health Travel Department (https://seychelles.govtas.com) and transferred the necessary documents with giving note within 6 hours. Thus I didn't know until Thursday evening whether I could fly the following day...

Um 18:30 Uhr luden wir meine 2 Koffer (bei Edelweiss ist ein
zusätzliches Sportgepäck inklusive) ein und Hansruedi fuhr mich die 45 Minuten
zum Flughafen Zürich. Der Flughafen war erschreckend leer! - Wurden all die
vielen Automaten zum Selbereinchecken, Passkontrolle etc. vergebens gebaut?? Ich
versteh das eh nicht, wenn man über Arbeitslosigkeit jammert! : ( - Aber der
A330 war ziemlich voll und ich hatte immerhin 2 Sitze am Fenster für mich! : )
At 6:30 pm we loaded my 2 suitcases (with Edelweiss an additional sports bag is included) into the car and Hansruedi drove me the 45 minutes to Zurich Airport. The airport was terrifyingly empty! - Had all the many machines for self-check-in, passport control etc. been built in vain? I don't understand it anyway when they are complaining about unemployment! : ( - But the A330 was pretty full and I had at least 2 seats by the window to myself! : )

Pünktlich um 21:25 Uhr hoben wir in Zürich ab und nach dem Abendessen
mit Rotwein und einem alten schwarz-weiss Film ziemlich nickte ich ein.
Schlussendlich habe ich doch ziemlich was geschlafen - ich war todmüde von den Pannen
und Strapazen von heute und der ganzen Woche!
We took off in Zurich punctually at 9:25 pm and after dinner with red wine and an old black and white movie I nodded off. In the end I slept quite a bit - I was dead tired from the mishaps and exertions of today and the whole week!

Kurz vor 8 Uhr (2 Stunden vor der Landung) wurden wir geweckt und nach
dem Frühstück waren wir schon im Landeanflug nach Victoria, Mahé. Da ich fast
zuhinterst sass, wartete ich eine geschlagene Stunde um auszusteigen - immer
nur 30 Personen durften das Flugzeug verlassen. Am Schluss war ich die Letzte,
die aus dem Terminal kam, denn die Einreisekontrolle wollte wissen, ob ich
wirklich 3 Monate bleibe... schlussendlich erhielt ich ein Visum für 1 Monat,
das ich dann in Victoria verlängern lassen kann...
Shortly before 8 am (2 hours before landing) we were woken up and after breakfast we were already on the approach to Victoria, Mahé. Since I was sitting almost at the very back, I waited an hour to get off - only 30 people were allowed to leave the plane at a stroke. In the end, I was the last one to leave the terminal, because the immigration control wanted to know whether I really want to stay 3 months... in the end I received a visa for 1 month, which I have to extend in Victoria...

Draussen wartete geduldig Gaetan mit meinem Namensschild und fuhr mich
zum Le Domaine de Bacova (http://www.seychellesvillasbacova.com)
im Süden, wo ich meine ersten 14 Tage reserviert hatte. Auf dem direkten Weg
sind es 10 km und Minuten, er zeigte mir aber noch die Gegend und wo Stände,
Geldautomat, Supermarket und Essensmöglichkeiten sind! : ) - Der erste Eindruck
der Menschen hier überzeugte mich bereits: Sehr entspannte und fröhliche Atmosphäre!

Outside, Gaetan waited patiently with my name tag and drove me to Le Domaine de Bacova (http://www.seychellesvillasbacova.com) in the south, where I had reserved my first 14 days. The direct route is 10 km and minutes, but he showed me the area and where there are ATMs, supermarkets and restaurants! : ) - The first impression of the people here convinced me already: A very relaxed and happy atmosphere! : )

Und genau so war es auch als ich um 13 Uhr im Le Domaine de Bacova
ankam: Ein ganz herzliches WIllkommen mit grossem Lächeln von Sharon, Jimmy
& Mr. Wilson, die sich rührend um ihre Gäste kümmern! Und im äusserst
hübschen und geräumigen Studio mit Meerblick fühlte ich mich im Nu wie zuhause!

And that's exactly how it was when I arrived at Le Domaine de Bacova at 1 pm: A very warm welcome with a big smile from Sharon, Jimmy & Mr. Wilson, who really take care of their guests! And in the extremely pretty and spacious studio with sea view, I felt at home in no time! : ))

Nachdem ich alles ausgepackt und am richtigen Ort verstaut hatte, machte
ich mich auf um meine Umgebung zu erkunden: Ich spazierte über die Strasse zum
Strand und fand schon mal meine Badebucht - umwerfend! : )) Im kleinen Ort
Pointe au Sel hat es einen Geldautomaten und Supermarket, wo ich Kaffee und
Yucca Chips einkaufte. Dann ging es direkt zurück zu meiner Badebucht um mich
abzukühlen: Temperaturen hier tagsüber um 30 und nacht 27 Grad. Das Meer war
wie eine Badewanne (28 Grad), ich wollte fast nicht mehr raus!
After I had unpacked everything and stowed it in the right place, I set out to explore my surroundings: I walked across the street to the beach and found my bathing bay - stunning! : )) In the small town of Pointe au Sel there is an ATM and a supermarket where I bought coffee and yucca chips. Then I went straight back to my bathing bay to cool off: Temperatures here around 30 centigrade during the day and 27 at night. The ocean was like a bathtub (28 centigrade), I almost didn't want to go out!

Müdigkeit und ein kleines Hüngerchen trieb mich dann zum Restaurant The
Crown (http://www.crownbeachseychelles.com),
ebenfalls an ‘meinem’ Strand Anse aux Courbes, wo ich um 17 Uhr ein frühes
Abendessen auf dem Strand mit herrlichem frischen Fisch genoss. Es hatte viele
einheimische Familien, die am Strand picknickten und das Wochenende feierten,
und eine war hier im Restaurant... so genoss ich nicht nur interessante
Gesellschaft sondern einen selbstgemachten Kuchen - was für ein grandioses
Willkommen im Paradies! : ))

Tiredness and a little hunger drove me to The Crown (http://www.crownbeachseychelles.com),
also on ‘my’ beach, Anse aux Courbes, where I enjoyed an early dinner on the
beach with wonderful fresh fish at 5 pm. There were many local families on the
beach picnicking and celebrating the weekend, and one was in the restaurant...
so I did not only enjoy interesting company but also a homemade cake - what a
terrific welcome to paradise! : ))
