In allen Dokus, die ich bisher gesehen habe, wird nicht nur die bestechende Natur der Seychellen gepriesen, sondern auch ihre Einwohner. Die Seychellois werden gelobt für ihr Engagement und Umgang mit der Natur - in meinen Augen ist die Natur eh Nummer eins: Sie ist unsere Basis und eigentlich alles, was wir haben... und obschon viele es zu vergessen scheinen, auch wir Menschen sind ein Teil der Natur! - Auf dieser Reise möchte ich herausfinden, ob dieser Respekt gegenüber der Natur allgegenwärtig ist sowie weshalb und wie die Einwohner der Seychellen es schaffen mit ihr im Einklang zu leben...
Und ich wollte weg zu normalen Menschen... wo der Corona Virus zwar
akzeptiert, aber nicht fokussiert wird! In andern Worten: Wo es noch anderes
gibt als die Panikmacherei der Medien.
In all the documentaries I have seen so far, they not only speak in hight terms of the captivating nature of the Seychelles but also of its inhabitants. The Seychellois are praised for their commitment and interaction with nature - in my eyes nature is number one anyway: It is our basis and actually everything we have... and although many seem to have forgotten about it, we humans are a part of nature too! - On this trip I would like to find out whether this respect for nature is omnipresent as well as why and how the inhabitants of the Seychelles manage to live in harmony with it...
And I wanted to get away to normal people... where the corona virus is accepted but not focused! In other words: where there is something other than the media's scare tactics.

Da ich dieses Archipel voraussichtlich 3 Monate bereisen werde, kann ich mir Zeit zum Ankommen und Akklimatisieren nehmen und meinem Körper Zeit geben sich an dieses Fleckchen Erde zu gewöhnen…
Die erste Nacht hier (nach der kurzen im Flugzeug) habe ich volle 12
Stunden geschlafen - bis 8 Uhr: Regenerierung pur! : ) Die Besitzer der Le
Domaine de Bacova (http://www.seychellesvillasbacova.com)
Beryl und Henri hatten mich mit Kokosnüssen, Ladyfingers (kleine Bananen) und
einer riesigen Papaya aus dem Garten versorgt, zudem hatte ich zum Frühstück meine
Resten von zuhause mitgenommen, so konnte ich einen gemütlichen Morgen mit
Installieren dieses Blogs geniessen! : )
Since I will be traveling this archipelago for 3 months, I can take time to arrive and acclimatize and give my body time to get used to this delightful spot...
The first night here (after the short one on the plane) I slept a full 12 hours - until 8 am: pure regeneration! : ) The owners of Le Domaine de Bacova (http://www.seychellesvillasbacova.com) Beryl and Henri had supplied me with coconuts, ladyfingers (small bananas) and a huge papaya from the garden. I also had my leftovers taken from home for breakfast so I could enjoy a leisurely morning installing this blog! : )

Um 15:30 Uhr unternahm ich dann einen Spaziergang Richtung Süden entlang
der Anse aux Courbes - etwas auf der Strasse über die kleine Halbinsel Pointe
au Sel zur Anse Royal (2 km). Ich ging meist barfuss auf weissen Puderstränden
und die Wolken schützten mich vor Sonnenbrand und Überhitzung. Viele
Einheimische hielten ihr allwöchentliches Familienpicknick am Strand und sind
sehr nett. Die meisten grüssten oder sprachen mich an - so konnte ich gleich mit
meiner Bewusstheitsarbeit beginnen: Jedem der fragte weshalb ich hier bin, entgegnete
ich, dass ich herausfinden möchte, ob die Menschen hier wirklich so viel
Respekt gegenüber der Natur haben... denn sie ist alles was wir haben - die
Nummer 1!
Beim einzigen Restaurant auf dem Strand Anse Royal, dem Kafe Kreol (https://www.facebook.com/kafekreol), genoss ich einen frischen Saft mit einem Schuss einheimischen Rum und spazierte dann noch bis zur Kirche am Ende der Bucht.
At 3:30 pm I took a walk south along the Anse aux Courbes – some part on the road across the small peninsula Pointe au Sel to Anse Royal (2 km). I mostly walked barefoot on white powder beaches and the clouds protected me from sunburn and overheating. Lots of local people held their weekly family picnic on the beach and are very kind. Most of them greeted me or spoke to me - so I was able to start my awareness project right away: To everyone who asked why I am here, I replied that I would like to find out whether the people here really have such a lot of respect for nature... because it is all we have - number 1!
At the only restaurant on the Anse Royal beach, the Kafe Kreol (https://www.facebook.com/kafekreol), I enjoyed a fresh juice with a dash of local rum and then walked on to the church at the end of the bay.

Nach einem erfrischenden Bad im Meer setzte ich mich gerade noch rechtzeitig vor einem heftigen Schauer auf die gedeckte Terrasse des Kafe Kreol um ein frühes Abendessen einzunehmen - ich musste ja schliesslich noch 2 km nach Hause... wie wusste ich noch nicht: zufuss (in der Dunkelheit?), per Bus (7 Rupees = 30 cent), mit dem Taxi (viel tu teuer!) oder doch per Autostopp?? - Ich entschied mich dann spontan für die letzte Option und Jossy im 3. Auto hielt an und brachte mich sicher nach Pointe au Sel. : )

After a refreshing swim in the sea, I took a table on the covered
terrace of the Kafe Kreol just in time before a heavy shower to have an early
dinner - after all, I had to go home another 2 km... I had no idea yet how: on
foot (in the dark?), by bus (7 rupees = 30 cents), by taxi (too expensive!) or
by hitchhiking - I then spontaneously decided on the last option and Jossy in
the third car stopped and brought me safely to Pointe au Sel. : )
