Heute Morgen bereitete ich
mir ein Porridge mit den letzten (ziemlich reifen) Bananen aus dem unserem
Garten zu. Das war so herzhaft, dass ich mich am Mittag voller Energie auf
meine heutige 2-stündige Wanderung machte: Zuerst wie genau vor einer Woche
meinem Hausstrand Anse aux Courbes entlang, dann auf der Strasse über Pointe au
Sel bis ich an den Anse Royal Strand gelangte.
Auf Mahé hat es viele Autos... und sie nutzen ihre Überlegenheit aus,
halten aber bei Fussgängerstreifen an (v.a. Stadt). Es gibt ausserhalb Victoria
auch nur wenige Troittoirs - die Infrastruktur ist der Autoindustrie angepasst!

This morning I made a porridge with the last (fairly ripe) bananas from our garden. It was so hearty that I set out on today's 2-hours’ hike at noon full of energy: First, like exactly a week ago, along my house beach Anse aux Courbes, then on the road over Pointe au Sel until I reached Anse Royal Beach. There are many cars on Mahé... and they take advantage of their superiority, but stop at pedestrian crossings (especially in town). Outside Victoria there are only a few sidewalks - the infrastructure is adapted to the car industry! : (

Am
nördlichen Ende der Anse Royal genoss ich schweissgebadet zuerst mal ein
ausgiebiges und abkühlendes Bad im Meer. Als ich mich auf dem Felsen trocknete,
trafen meine Freunde Daniel und Tyron ein. Daniel fuhr zurück nach Pointe au

At the northern end of Anse Royal bathed in sweat, I first enjoyed a long and cooling bath in the sea. As I was drying myself on the rock, my friends Daniel and Tyron arrived. Nun ging
es nochmals 45 Minuten bergauf und wir waren durch und durch nass als wir im
Jardin du Roi ankamen! Henri vom Le Domaine de Bacova (http://www.seychellesvillasbacova.com) hatte mir empfohlen einen Rum
Orange zu genehmigen, was wir taten mit der Frage ob es hier eine Dusche oder
Gartenschlauch gäbe? - Das Zweite war an jeder Ecke zu finden und natürlich
benutzen wir es! : ) Der botanische Garten ist nicht nur eine Gewürzplantage
sondern beherbergt auch die einheimischen Riesenschildkröten, die fast so gross
wie die auf Galapagos sind.
Now it was another 45 minutes uphill and we were wet through and through when we arrived at the Jardin du Roi! Henri from Le Domaine de Bacova (http://www.seychellesvillasbacova.com) recommended to have a rum orange, which we did with the question if there was a shower or a garden hose? - The second one could be found on every corner and of course we use it! : ) The botanical garden is not only a spice plantation but also houses the native giant tortoises, which are almost as big as those on the Galapagos Islands.

Nach
einem lockeren Abstieg nach Anse Royal nahmen wir den Bus zurück nach Pointe au
Sel. Eine kurze Dusche später traf ich bei Beryl und Henri ein, die mich mit
meinen Nachbarn und langjährigen Gästen Angelika und Dieter zum Abendessen
eingeladen hatten. Henri ist ein ausgezeichneter Koch und verwöhnte un smit einer
grossartige Auswahl! : ) Ich hatte solch interessante und anregende Gespräche,
dass ich dabei ganz vergessen habe Fotos zu schiessen...

After an easy descent to Anse Royal, we took the bus back to Pointe au
Sel. A short shower later, I met Beryl and Henri, who had invited me to dinner together
with our neighbours and long-time guests Angelika and Dieter. Henri is an
excellent cook and treated us with a great selection! : ) I had such
interesting and stimulating conversations that I completely forgot to take
photos...
