Auf den ersten Blick scheint La Digue eine saubere Insel zu sein... aber wenn man langsam unterwegs ist (zu Fuss oder mit dem Fahrrad), sieht man mehr... auch den Abfall... Und keiner kann mir erzählen, dass die vielen Glas- und Plastikflaschen, Schuhe sowie Babywindeln und sogar ein Fahrradgestell in den Büschen vom Meer angespült werden!
Nun bin ich bereits 2 Wochen hier auf der 3 x 5 km kleinen Insel La Digue und habe fast alles gesehen und unternommen, was möglich ist... sogar alle Geschäfte abgeklappert, die offen sind! Vieles ist zu, vor allem die Restaurants und Strandbars... ja, hier im Hotel Patatran (https://www.patatranseychelles.com) mit Restaurant bin ich bestens aufgehoben und inzwischen nicht mehr der einzige Gast. Ziele wie die Inseln Fregate, Silhouette und North sind einfach zu teuer und ich habe bislang noch keine Möglichkeit gefunden zu den äusseren Seychellen wie das Aldabra Atoll zu gelangen...
At first glance La Digue seems to be a clean island... but if you move slowly (on foot or by bike) you see more... also rubbish... And nobody can tell me that the many glass and plastic bottles, shoes as well as baby diapers and even a bike rack in the bushes are washed up by the sea!
Now I've been here on the 3 x 5 km small island of La Digue for 2 weeks and I've seen and done almost everything which is possible... I even checked out all the shops that are open! A lot is closed, especially the restaurants and beach bars... so I'm in good hands here at the Hotel Patatran (https://www.patatranseychelles.com) with restaurant and am no longer the only guest. Destinations like the islands of Fregate, Silhouette and North are just too expensive and I haven't found a way to get to the outer Seychelles like the Aldabra Atoll yet...

Deshalb habe ich mich entschlossen vorläufig hier im sicheren Hafen des Hotel Patatran zu bleiben und mich dem wirklich Wichtigen zu widmen: der Natur! - Ich kann es nicht oft genug wiederholen: Die Natur ist die Nummer 1 und alles was wir haben... auch wir Menschen sind ein Teil davon! Das scheint unsere Plastik-Generation vergessen zu haben, sie wurde von den Medien erzogen und konditioniert... : (( - Ich vertraue der Natur, den Menschen nicht unbedingt!
That’s why I have decided to stay here in the safe haven of the Hotel Patatran for the time being and devote myself to what is really important: nature! - I cannot repeat it often enough: Nature is number 1 and everything we have... we humans are part of it too! Our plastic generation seems to have forgotten about it, they were educated and conditioned by the media... : (( - I trust nature, not necessarily people!

Ich begann auf dem Grundstück neben dem Patatran Abfall einzusammeln und bis ich am Anse Gaulettes war, hatte ich eine Stunde später 2 50 lt Säcke voll Abfall eingesammelt! Aufräumen und Abfall Einsammeln ist Meditation... : ) Zum Glück gibt es viele Container am Strassenrand, aber halt eben nicht an den Stränden, die nur zu Fuss oder per Boot zugänglich sind.
I started collecting rubbish on the property next to the Patatran and until I was at Anse Gaulettes one hour later, I had collected 2 50 lt bags of rubbish! Tidying up and collecting trash is meditation... : ) Fortunately, there are many containers on the roadside, but not at the beaches which are accessible only on foot or by boat.

Das Wetter zeigte sich immer mehr von seiner sonnigen Seite und ich war meist sportlich unterwegs. Neben meinem üblichen Joggen und Schwimmen 1 Stunde 3 x die Woche (seit 30 Jahren!) und Yoga, fuhr ich fast täglich die kleine Insel mit dem Velo ab. Am Freitag fuhr ich zur Grand Anse und war die Einzige am grossen wunderschönen Strand...
The weather was showing its sunny side more and more and I was mostly sporty on my way. In addition to my usual jogging and swimming 1 hour 3 times a week (since 30 years!) and yoga, I cycled the small island almost every day. On Friday I went to Grand Anse and was the only one on the big beautiful beach...

Als ich am Sonntag um die Insel fuhr, entdeckte
ich, dass meine Lieblingsbar, die Bikini Bottom Bar (https://www.facebook.com/search/posts/?q=bikini%20bottom) an der Anse Severe, wieder
offen ist: Seychelle durfte sie für Take-Away öffnen - was für eine willkommene
Abwechslung! : ) Ich blieb den ganzen Nachmittag dort hängen und wie jeder
andere Gast lernte ich eine offene Bar wieder richtig schätzen! : ))

As I drove around the island on Sunday, I discovered that my favourite
bar, the Bikini Bottom Bar (https://www.facebook.com/search/posts/?q=bikini%20bottom) on Anse Severe, was open: Seychelle was allowed to
open it for take-away - what a welcome diversion! : ) I stayed there the whole
afternoon and like every other guest I got to know to appreciate an open bar! :
