Nun hat
es endlich doch noch geklappt: Meine Familie versucht mich seit Januar zu
besuchen, aber die Panik vor Corona hat fast den ganzen Flugverkehr
lahmgelegt... Nun werden meine Mutter, Hansruedi (der Vater unserer Tochter
Melanie), Melanie, ihr Mann Felix und deren 7 Monate alte Tochter Hanna (meine
Enkelin) am kommenden Samstag Morgen mit Emirates hier in Mahé einreisen! : )
Finally things fell into place: My family has been trying to visit me since January, but the panic of Corona has paralyzed almost all air traffic... Now my mum, Hansruedi (the father of our daughter Melanie), Melanie, her husband Felix and their 7 months old daughter Hanna (my granddaughter) will arrive here in Mahé with Emirates next Saturday morning! : )

Abrupt
endete mein zeitloses Dasein und ich hatte einiges zu organisieren... Villa
Dorado an 'meinem' Strand Anse aux Courbes wurde in Februar verkauft, so musste
ich neu auf Haussuche gehen. Ich wollte mit meiner Familie am Strand sein und
dort ein Haus zu finden ist auch mit wenig Touristen im Lande eine Glückssache!
Aber wie immer öffnete sich ein Türchen: Die Villa Fleur de Sel mit ihren 4 Schlafzimmern in der nächsten Bucht Anse Royal war genau zu unseren
Reisezeiten frei... und Zufall oder nicht, die Besitzerin ist Anne-Laure, die
Cousine von Henri (Le Domaine de Bacova: http://www.seychellesvillasbacova.com)...
My timeless existence ended abruptly and I had a lot to organize... Villa Dorado on 'my' beach Anse aux Courbes was sold in February, so I had to set out for a new accommodation. I wanted to be on the beach with my family and finding a house there is a matter of luck even with few tourists in the country! But, as always, a door opened: The Villa Fleur de Sel with its 4 bedrooms in the next bay, Anse Royal, was free on our travel times... and coincidence or not, the owner is Anne-Laure, Henri's cousin (Le Domaine de Bacova: http://www.seychellesvillasbacova.com)...

Das
Warten versüsste ich mit einer der wenigen Wanderungen, die ich noch nicht
absolviert hatte: Am Ostersonntag traf ich mich um 8 Uhr mit Kasia auf der Niol
Road in der Nähe von Pascal Village, im Norden der Insel. Der gut
ausgeschilderte Wanderweg Dans Gallas führte uns 1 Stunde 516 m steil aufwärts
und belohnte uns mit einer atemberaubenden Aussicht über den Norden von Mahé.
I soothed my waiting with one of the few hikes I hadn't done yet: On Easter Sunday, I met Kasia at 8 am on Niol Road near Pascal Village, in the north of the island. The well-signposted Dans Gallas hiking trail took us 516 m steep uphill for 1 hour and rewarded us with a breath-taking view over the north of Mahé.

Da ich
Mahé bereits am Anfang meiner Reise in den Seychellen im November und Dezember
2020 ausführlich ausgekundschaftet hatte, unternahm ich zur Abwechslung kleine
Ausflüge: Eine führte mich für letzte Besorgungen und Willkommensgeschenke für
meine Familie in die kleinste Hauptstadt Victoria. Zum Sonnenuntergang machte
ich kleine Touren (20 + 30 km) im Süden über die Pässe zur Westküste...

Since I had already explored Mahé in detail at the beginning of my trip to
the Seychelles in November and December 2020, I made a few small excursions for
a change: One took me to the smallest capital Victoria for last errands and
welcome gifts for my family. For sunset I drove small tours (20 + 30 km) in the
south over the passes to the west coast...
