Vallée de Mai (http://www.sif.sc/vdm) ist
Zweifels ohne einer der Höhepunkte der Insel Praslin... dieser Urwald im
wahrsten Sinn des Wortes es ist ein Unikum: Nur hier auf dieser ganzen weiten
Welt entwickelt sich die Coco de Mer, die grösste Nuss und der grösste Samen unseres
Planeten. Die weiblichen wie männlichen Exemplare deuten unweigerlich auf die
Geschlechter der Menschen hin… Im Dezember verbrachte ich etwa 3 Stunden in
diesem Wald, ganz alleine, und zwar absichtlich: Damit ich die Atmosphäre ohne
Aussenberieselung einsaugen und beobachten konnte. Nur schon eine Fahrt durch
dieses Tal lässt staunen, geschweige denn einige Stunden in dieser eigenen Welt...
Vallée de Mai (http://www.sif.sc/vdm) is without a doubt one of the highlights of the island of Praslin... this primeval forest in the truest sense of the word it is unique: Only here in this whole wide world Coco de Mer evolves, the largest nut and seed on our planet. The female and male specimens inevitably indicate the genders of the humans... In December I spent about 3 hours in this forest, all alone, and deliberately: I wanted to soak in and observe the atmosphere without external irrigation. Driving through this valley is already astonishing, not to mention what a few hours in this endemic world will do...

Als wir
am Dienstag kurz nach 15 Uhr eintrafen, war der Park für ankommende Gäste
bereits geschlossen. OK, dann machen wir es morgen, und zwar etwas früher!
When we arrived shortly after 3 pm on Tuesday, the park was already closed to arriving guests. OK, we'll do it tomorrow, a little earlier!

Dafür
kappte es am Abend mit dem zweiten Höhepunkt der Insel bzw. des ganzes
Archipels: Wir hatten im Les Rocher (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Les%20Rochers,%20Praslin,%20Seychelles/695383024175324),
nicht nur in meinen Augen das beste Restaurant der Seychellen, einen Tisch
gebucht. Bereits im Dezember war ich einige Male hier und auch während unseres
Ausfluges nach La Digue und Praslin vor 10 Tagen mit meiner ganzen Familie
haben wir gegessen. - Einfach immer wieder fantastisch!
In return, we enjoyed the second highlight of the island and the whole archipelago to the fullest in the evening: We had booked a table at Les Rocher (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Les%20Rochers,%20Praslin,%20Seychelles/695383024175324), which is not only in my eyes the best restaurant in the Seychelles. I was already here a few times in December and we had a late lunch with my whole family on our trip to La Digue and Praslin 10 days ago. - Simply fantastic again and again!

Beim
zweiten Anlauf im Vallée de Mai Nationalpark klappte es - wir wussten nun auch
wann die Öffnungszeiten waren, die wie alles ständig änderte... Auch dieses Mal
entschlossen wir keinen Führer zu nehmen, schlicht weil es einfach zu
kostspielig war. Anstatt pro Gruppe einen Führer anzubieten musste man die
Kosten pro Person tragen! : ( Kaum drinnen, sprach uns jemand von aussen an: Ob
wir eine Führung wünschten? Ich fragte nach dem Preis und der war voll in Ordnung
– Geduld bringt Rosen! : )
Eine win-win Situation: Kevin verdiente sich etwas dazu und wir bereicherten uns mit seinem Wissen! So etwa, dass dies seit 1983 ein Nationalpark ist und die Coco de Mer noch mehr Geheimisse hat als dass sie etwa 30 m und 150 Jahre alt wird: Ein Palmenblatt benötigt 1 Jahr und es gibt sogar Zwillings- und Drillingsnüsse…
At the second attempt in the Vallée de Mai National Park worked out - we now also knew when the opening times were, which like everything else changes constantly... Also this time we decided not to take a guide, simply because it was too expensive. Instead of offering a guide per group, you had to pay the cost per person! : ( Hardly inside, someone from the outside spoke to us: If we would like a tour? I asked about the price and it was perfectly fine – all things come to him who waits! : )
A win-win situation: Kevin earned something and we enriched ourselves with his knowledge! For example, that this has been a national park since 1983 and the Coco de Mer has even more secrets than that it is around 30 m and 150 years old: A palm leaf takes 1 year and there are even twin and triplet nuts...

a high-altitude excursion to Zimbabwe and a delicious dinner at the Art Café on
the Anse Volbert / Cote d'Or (https://leduc-seychelles.com/de/restaurant/cafe-des-arts-restaurant)
in the midst of a fantastic backdrop!
