Um 9 Uhr traf ich die Jungs Daniel und Tyron mit meinem ersten Plakat an
unserem Strand. : ) Als es sicher und gut sichtbar platziert war, kauften wir
unser Frühstück ein und los ging es über den Bon Espoir Pass zur Westküste und
dann Richtung Norden nach Port Glaud. Um 11 Uhr trafen wir beim Sauzier Wasserfall ein und genehmigten uns erst
mal ein erfrischendes Bad gefolgt von einem nicht zu schweren Frühstück - wir
hatten ja noch einen Berg zu erklimmen...
At 9 am I met the boys Daniel and Tyron on our beach with my first board. : ) When it was placed safely and clearly visible, we bought our breakfast and off we drove over the Bon Espoir pass to the west coast and then north to Port Glaud. At 11 am we arrived at the Sauzier waterfall and first treated ourselves with a refreshing bath followed by a not too heavy breakfast - we still had a mountain ahead of us to climb...

Als wir um 12 Uhr bei der Tea Factory parkierten, begann es heftig zu
regnen und wir warteten eine geschlagene Stunde bis wir losmarschieren konnten.
Es war herrlich nach dem grossen Regen: Alles schien zu erwachen und es war für
einmal nicht einfach nur heiss sondern sehr feucht... Zuerst bestaunten wir die
Teeplantagen und die pitcher plants des Tea Tavern Glacis (= Granitfelsen)
Trail dann ging es sehr steil hinauf zum Morne Blanc (667 m). Der Nebel
versperrte uns zwar die Aussicht auf die Westküste aber es war trotzdem
spannend die Veränderungen der Vegetation zu beobachten! : )
When we parked at the Tea Factory at noon, it started to rain heavily and we waited for an hour before we could start hiking. It was just wonderful after the big rain: Everything seemed to wake up and for once it was not just hot but very humid... First we marveled at the tea plantations and the pitcher plants of the Tea Tavern Glacis (= granite rock) Trail then it went very steep uphill to the Morne Blanc (667 m). The fog blocked our view of the west coast but it was still exciting to watch the changes in the vegetation! : )

1 1/2 Stunden später waren wir zurück beim Auto und klitschnass nicht
nur vor Schweiss, sondern auch von der extremen Feuchtigkeit und dem Regen, der
von den Bäumen tropfte... Nach einer Kokosnuss fuhren wir die paar Kilometer
zur Port Glaud Lagoon und gönnten uns ein langes erfrischendes Bad und Pause in
der wunderschönen Bucht...
1 1/2 hours later we were back at the car and not only drenched from sweat, but also from the extreme humidity and the rain that was dripping from the trees... After a coconut we drove the few kilometers to Port Glaud Lagoon and had a long refreshing bath and break in the beautiful bay...

Den herrlichen Tag schlossen wir im Kapatya (https://m.facebook.com/pages/category/Restaurant/Kapatya-Restaurant-185912622190099) an der Anse a la Mouche ab.
Die Jungs wollten unbedingt ein Kindermenu - aber das war was sie wollten -
während ich ein Job (leckerer lokaler Fish ähnlich einem Seeteufel) Filet mit
Gemüse und Pommes verdrückte! : )

We ended the wonderful day at Kapatya (https://m.facebook.com/pages/category/Restaurant/Kapatya-Restaurant-185912622190099) on Anse a la Mouche. The boys
wanted urgently a children's menu - but
that was what made them happy today - while I had a job (delicious local fish
similar to a monkfish) fillet with vegetables and chips! : )
