Am
Mittwoch hatte ich eine weitere Wanderung auf dem Programm... ich war gespannt,
ob das Wetter mir hold sein würde - denn in den letzten Tagen wechselte es von
einer Minute zur anderen... Kurz nach Mittag nahm ich die Passstrasse via Bon
Espoir zur Westküste, diese entlang Richtung Norden bis nach Port Claud und
dort auf der Sans Soucis Passstrasse in den Morne Seychellois National Park.
Mein erster Stopp war die Tea Factory, wo ich eine Stunde später eintraf und
die diesmal offen war.
On Wednesday I had planned another hike... I was very curious to see whether the weather would be on my side - because in the last few days it changed from one minute to the other... Shortly after noon I took the pass road via Bon Espoir to the west coast, then direction north to Port Claud and there I took the Sans Soucis pass road into the Morne Seychellois National Park. My first stop was the Tea Factory, where I arrived an hour later and which was open this time.

Nach
einer 10-minütige Selbsttour, fuhr ich weiter zu den Ruinen und Aussichtspunkt
Mission Lodge/Venn’s Town aus dem Jahre 1876. Da es wieder zu regnen begann,
kehrte ich zum Auto zurück und fuhr weiter der Sans Soucis Road entlang
Richtung Victoria bis zum Copolia Trail, meine geplante Wanderung heute. Es
regnete aber dermassen, dass die Parkangestellten den Wanderweg kurzerhand sperrten
und nach Hause gingen! Da aber noch 2 Mietwagen geparkt waren, nahm ich an,
dass diese Wanderer noch unterwegs waren… so wartete ich einen Moment, bis die
5 Personen klitschnass zurückkamen. Ich wunderte mich, dass die Parkangestellten
nicht auf sie gewartet hatten und dachte mir, wenn die es mit einem Kleinkind
im triefenden Regen schaffen, dann schaffe auch ich die Wanderung ohne Regen! –
Und so war es: Der Regen stoppte schon bald und ich machte mich in Flipflops
auf den Weg… einfach nur traumhaft! Die Sonne kam hervor und ich genoss einen
atemberaubenden Ausblick auf einem riesigen Copolia Glacis (Granitfelsen), dem
höchsten Punkt der Wanderung (497 m)! : ))
Wandern auf
Mahé ist eine Wohltat: Meist im Schatten und mit dem frischen Sauerstoff des
Jungels, es gibt vieles zu entdecken auf den gut ausgeschilderten Wanderwegen, häufig
werden auch Flora und Fauna mit Tafeln erklärt und die meisten Wanderungen
dauern 1 ½ - 2 Stunden - ideal bei 30 Grad!
After a 10-minute self-tour, I drove on to the ruins and lookout point Mission Lodge/Venn's Town from 1876. As it started to rain again, I returned to the car and continued along Sans Soucis Road towards Victoria to the Copolia Trail, my planned hike today. But it was raining so heavily that the park employees closed the trail and went home! But since there were still 2 rental cars parked, I assumed that these hikers were still on the way... so I waited for a while until the 5 persons came back soaking wet. I was amazed that the park employees had not waited for them and thought to myself; if they can make it with a toddler in the dripping rain, I can do the hike without rain! - And that’s how it was: The rain soon stopped and I set off in flip-flops... just fantastic! The sun came out and I enjoyed a breathtaking view on the huge Copolia Glacis (granite rock), the highest point of the hike (497 m)! : ))
Hiking on Mahé is a blessing: Mostly in the shade and with the fresh oxygen of the jungle, there is a lot to discover on the well signposted hiking trails, flora and fauna are often explained on boards and most hikes last 1 ½ - 2 hours - ideal at 30 centigrade!

Da ich
schon mal im Norden der Insel war, fuhr ich nach Beau Vallon um im Beach Shak (https://www.facebook.com/beachshakseychelles)
einen Sundowner zu geniessen… Zum Abendessen fuhr ich ein paar Kilometer
weiter zum fantastischen Restaurant Marie-Antoinette (http://www.marieantoinette.sc), etwas
oberhalb Victoria, und liess mich mit einem Tisch voller kreolischen
Spezialitäten verwöhnen – lecker…
Since I was already in the north of the island, I drove to Beau Vallon to enjoy a sundowner in the Beach Shak (https://www.facebook.com/beachshakseychelles)... For dinner I continued a few kilometres to the fantastic restaurant Marie-Antoinette (http://www.marieantoinette.sc), a little above Victoria, where I enjoyed a table full of Creole specialties - delicious...

Am
Donnerstag regnete es fast ununterbrochen… am frühen Morgen erwachte ich, so heftig
prasselte es! Die kurzen sonnigen Abschnitte nutze ich für mein Jogging, einen
Schwatz mit meinen Freunden am Strand Anse aux Courbes und zum Abendessen
genehmigte ich mir eine herrliche Pizza von Vittorio im Kafe Kreol (https://www.facebook.com/kafekreol) in Anse Royal - mmmhhhhh!

On Thursday it rained almost continuously... in the early morning I woke
up, that hard it was pounding! The short, sunny sections I used for jogging,
chatting with my friends on the beach Anse aux Courbes and for dinner I had a
wonderful pizza made by Vittorio in the Kafe Kreol (https://www.facebook.com/kafekreol)
in Anse Royal - mmmhhhhh!
