Heute Nachmittag
machte ich 2 x die kleine Inselrunde: via Vallée de Mai nach Baie Sainte Anne
und der Küste entlang zurück und umgekehrt (total 50 km). Mein Vorhaben heute:
2 Wanderungen im Südosten der Insel. Zuerst kaufte ich im Jetty in Baie Sainte
Anne mein Fähreticket für Donnerstag, den 31.12., zur nächsten Insel nach La
Digue. Dann traf ich Deepak von Aventure Car Hire (aventure@seychelles.net) um die Miete meines
Autos zu verlängern und bezahlen.
This afternoon I did twice the small island tour: via Vallée de Mai to Baie Sainte Anne and back along the coast and vice versa (total 50 km). My plan today: 2 hikes in the southeast of the island. First I bought my ferry ticket for Thursday, December 31st, to the next island La Digue at the jetty in Baie Sainte Anne. Then I met Deepak from Aventure Car Hire (aventure@seychelles.net) to extend and pay for my car rental.

Nun ging
es zurück ins Vallée de Mai um die stündige Wanderung zum Glacis Noir
anzutreten. Ich war froh, dass der Weg gut ausgeschildert ist, denn ich wollte
nicht nochmal dasselbe wie letzte Woche an der Anse La Blague erleben! Zudem
erzählte mir Sylvie, die Tochter von Therese des Le Tropique Villa (http://www.tropiquevilla.com), dass immer noch 2 Touristen vermisst werden von
Wanderungen hier auf Praslin…
Ich
marschierte auf sicheren Wegen meist im Schatten der Bäume, war aber trotzdem
klitschnass, als ich beim Aussichtsturm ankam! Ich genoss die atemberaubende
Aussicht und kletterte sogar die wackligen Treppen hoch bis ganz nach oben. Auf
dem Rückweg brachte mich ein unbekannter Vogelruf zum Stoppen und schon bald
sichtete ich den schwarzen Seychellen-Papagei, der sehr selten endemisch auf
Praslin ist. Schade nur, dass er sich zum Fotografieren im falschen Licht
befand, dachte ich… und schwupps, wechselte er auf die andere Seite des
Wanderweges und posierte regelrecht für mich! : )
Now it was back to the Vallée de Mai to start the hour's hike to Glacis Noir. I was glad that the path is well signposted; because I didn't want to experience the same as last week at Anse La Blague! In addition, Sylvie, the daughter of Therese des Le Tropique Villa (http://www.tropiquevilla.com) told me that two tourists are still missing from hiking here on Praslin...
I walked on safe paths mostly in the shade of the trees, but yet I was soaking wet when I got to the observation tower! I enjoyed the breathtaking view and even climbed up the wobbly stairs to the top. On the way back, an unknown bird call stopped me and I soon spotted the black Seychelles parrot, which is very rare and endemic to Praslin. It was just a shame that he was in the wrong light to take pictures, that’s what I thought... and whoops, he switched to the other side of the hiking trail and literally posed for me! : )

Nach
dieser mini Wanderung wollte ich zum Aussichtsturm Fond Ferdinand aufsteigen (2
Stunden hin und zurück), der ist aber ab 13 Uhr geschlossen… Das war ein
Zeichen um nachhause zurückzukehren…

After this mini hike, I wanted to go up to the Fond Ferdinand
observation tower (2 hours there and back), but it is closed from 1 pm... That
was a sign to turn back home...
