Um 14 Uhr
traf ich auf dem Parkplatz des Nationalparkes Vallée de Mai ein. Da gerade ein
Bus voller Israeli zugefahren war, wartete ich für einen Moment und als ich den
Park betrat, verliessen ihn die ersten Israeli bereits…Ich benötigte satte 2
Stunden um alle Wanderpfade im dichten Jungel zu beschreiten - die riesigen Palmblättern
spendeten Schutz vor Sonne und Regen! Es herrschte eine hohe Feuchtigkeit aber angenehme
Temperatur in dieser Oase des konzentrierten Sauerstoffes… : )
Das
Vallée de Mai auf Praslin ist die Heimat der grössten Nuss und Samens unseres Planeten:
Coco de Mer Nuss, auch Seychellennuss genannt. Sie benötigt 6 – 7 Jahre bis sie
reif und bis zu 50 cm sowie 25 - 45 kg schwer wird. Die Coco de Mer Palme/Seychellenpalme
kann bis zu 25 m hoch wachsen und wird sicher 250 Jahre alt. Wie alt, weiss man
nicht, denn sie wurde erst vor 250 Jahren entdeckt! ; ) Die Coco de Mer kommt
nur hier auf den Seychellen vor und ist nur eine von weiteren 5 endemische
Palmenarten im Vallée de Mai National Park.
At 2 pm I arrived the parking lot of the Vallée de Mai National Park. Since a bus full of Israelis had just arrived, I waited for a moment and when I entered the park, the first Israelis were already leaving... I needed a full 2 hours to walk all the hiking trails in the dense jungle - the huge palm leaves provided protection from the sun and rain! Humidity was high but pleasant temperature in this oasis of concentrated oxygen... : )
The Vallée de Mai on Praslin is home to the largest nut and seed on our planet: Coco de Mer. It takes 6 - 7 years until it is ripe and becomes up to 50 cm and 25 - 45 kg. The Coco de Mer palm tree can grow up to 25 m high and lives surely 250 years. How old is not known, because it was only discovered 250 years ago! ; ) The Coco de Mer occurs exclusively here in the Seychelles and is only one of another 5 endemic palm species in the Vallée de Mai National Park.

Als ich
aus dem Urwaldl kam, erfasste mich die Hitze und ich flüchtete ans Meer. Ich
hatte das Restaurant Les Rochers (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Les%20Rochers,%20Praslin,%20Seychelles/695383024175324)
in der Anse Bateau bereits inspiziert und ein Bad in der malerischen Bucht
schien mir das Tüpflechen auf dem i nach der heutigen Königsdisziplin Vallée de
Mai… einfach nur traumhaft! : ))
When I came out of the jungle, the heat seized me and I fled to the sea. I had already inspected the restaurant Les Rochers (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Les%20Rochers,%20Praslin,%20Seychelles/695383024175324) in Anse Bateau and a swim in the picturesque bay seemed like the icing on the cake after today's supreme discipline Vallée de Mai... simply stunning! : ))

Nach dem
Sonnenuntergang setzte ich mich draussen an einen Tisch des Les Rochers und genoss
einen Sundowner (frischer Saft mit einem Schuss dunklem Takamaka Rum), dazu
wurden noch warmen Bananen- und caramelisierte Kokoschips serviert… ich fühlte
mich wie im Paradies… Das Abendessen nahm ich im stilvollen Ambiente des
Restaurants zu mir: Sie hatten Lobster auf der Karte - wo sollte ich ihn bestellen,
wenn nicht hier!?
After sunset, I took a table outside at Les Rochers and enjoyed a sundowner (fresh juice with a dash of dark Takamaka rum), served with warm banana and caramelized coconut chips... I felt like I was in paradise... My dinner I took in the stylish ambience of the restaurant: They had lobster on the menu - where should I order it if not here!?

Heute hatte
ich sage und schreibe 30 km auf der 12 x 5 km kleinen Insel hinter mich gelegt!
Und das Les Rochers ist nur gerade 5,5 km vom Le Tropique Villa (http://www.tropiquevilla.com) entfernt! : )
