Dieses Wochenende war sehr regnerisch… und wenn es regnete, dann so
richtig heftig! Es gab dann zwar eine Abkühlung, aber wirklich kühl wurde es
nie. Deutlich kühler ist es aber in den Bergen, trotzdem benötigte ich nie eine
Jacke. Arbeit habe ich eh immer genug, so nutzte ich die Regenstunden für meinen
Blog und die Planung meiner nächsten Destination: Praslin… Wenn die Sonne rauskam,
ging ich am langen Turtle Bay joggen und schwimmen, säuberte unseren Strand
Anse aux Courbes und danach mich im klaren, warmen Wasser mit einem Ganzkörperpeeling
mit dem weissen feinen Sand und traf die Einheimischen auf einen Schwatz...
It was very rainy this weekend... and when it rained it was raining heavily! It did cool down, but it never got really cool. It's much cooler in the mountains, but I never needed a jacket. I always have enough work anyway, so I used the rainy hours for my blog and planning my next destination: Praslin... When the sun came out, I went for a run and swim on the long Turtle Bay, cleaned our Anse aux Courbes beach and then myself in the clear, warm water with a full body peeling of the white fine sand and met the locals for a chat...

Die Seychellois sind überaus freundlich und offen und die meisten lieben
das einfache Leben. Sie sind sehr dankbar für das, was ich hier tue, und verstehen
und schätzen auch meine Poster. Einer hat sie sogar verbessert, damit ich auch
zu ihnen gehöre, denn alle sagen immer wieder ich sei eine Seychellois! : ))
Trotzdem benötigt es viel Arbeit um Gewohnheiten zu ändern… immer wieder: Eine
Bananen- oder Kokosnussschale ist halt doch nicht dasselbe wie Plastik- Glas-
und andere Verpackungen und leider gewöhnen sich die Menschen auch hier an ein
Bild mit Abfall. : (
The Seychellois are extremely friendly and open and most of them love a simple life. They are incredibly grateful for what I am doing here and understand and appreciate my boards. One of them even improved them so that I am one of them, because everyone keeps saying I am a Seychellois! : )) Nevertheless it takes a lot of work to change habits... again and again: A banana skin or coconut shell is just not the same as plastic, glass and other packaging and unfortunately people get used to a picture with garbage. : (

Dasselbe gilt auch für den Strassenverkehr. Die Strassen sind alle sehr
eng und nicht für Fussgänger gebaut. Wie in Europa hat sich hier das Gefühl
eingeschlichen, dass Autos Vorrang haben – je grösser das Auto, desto stärker fühlen
sich die Fahrer! Vor allem die Busse sind immer sehr schnell und zackig
unterwegs, so dass man sich als Fussgänger in die Büsche retten muss… Wie schon
in Indien versuche ich auch hier den Verkehr zu erziehen und spatziere ruhig
auf der Seite der Strasse und zwinge die Auto Rücksicht auf die Fussgänger zu
nehmen und sie zu respektieren: Die werden mich schon nicht überfahren – wer will
denn schon so eine Schweinerei!? ; )
The same applies to road traffic. The streets are all very narrow and not built for pedestrians. Like in Europe, the feeling has crept in here too that cars have priority - the bigger the car, the stronger the drivers feel! Especially the buses are driving very fast and snappily, the way that pedestrians have to save themselves in the bushes... As in India, I try to educate the traffic here and walk quietly on the side of the road forcing the cars to be considerate and respect pedestrians: They won't run me over - who does want such a mess anyhow!? ; )

Am Montag war es einigermassen trocken und die Jungs wollten unbedingt mein
Auto waschen bevor es auf eine kleine Inseltour ging. Mit einem blitzblanken
Kia Picanto fuhren wir Richtung Norden nach Mon Plaisir, einem Vorort Victorias,
und besuchten Tyrons Vater Jean Paul. Nach einem erfrischenden Bad in der Anse
Nord d’Est ging es weiter über den La Misère Pass an die Westküste nach Port
Claud. Diese Passstrasse hatte ich bisher noch nicht befahren und sie belohnte
uns in Fairview mit einem fantastischen Ausblick auf Victoria, Eden Island und
die vorgelagerten Inseln Sainte Anne, Moyenne, Ronde, Longe und Cerf im Sainte
Anne Marine National Park.
Unterwegs trafen wir viele Israeli, die scheinbar momentane als grünes (Corona freies) Land gelten und ohne Quarantäne in die Seychellen einreisen können… Die Seychellois selber dürfen seit März das Land nicht verlassen und die, die im Ausland wohnen und einreisen (wie Beryl und Henri’s Tochter Oceane, die in Prag studiert), müssen eine 2-wöchige Quarantäne in einem Hotel in Beau Vallon absitzen…
On Monday it was fairly dry and the boys insisted on washing my car before going on a little island tour. With a sparkling clean Kia Picanto we drove north to Mon Plaisir, a suburb of Victoria, and visited Tyron's father Jean Paul. After a refreshing bath at Anse Nord d’Est, we continued over the La Misère pass to the west coast to Port Claud. I had not driven this pass road before and in Fairview it rewarded us with a fantastic view of Victoria, Eden Island and the offshore islands of Sainte Anne, Moyenne, Ronde, Longe and Cerf in the Sainte Anne Marine National Park.
On the way we met many Israeli who are currently considered a green (corona-free) country and can enter the Seychelles without quarantine... The Seychellois themselves have not been allowed to leave the country since March and those who live and enter from abroad (such as Beryl and Henri's daughter Oceane, who studies in Prague), must do a 2-week quarantine in a hotel in Beau Vallon...

Die herrlichen Tage liess ich mit einem ebensolchen Abendessen
ausklingen. Nun, da ich ein Auto hatte, war die Auswahl der Restaurants
bedeutend grosser, so dass ich schnell mal die 5,5 km zum urgemütlichen Surfers
Beach (http://www.surfersbeach.sc) und zurück unter die Räder nahm. Trotzdem, wenn es geht, mache ich wie
zuhause alles zu Fuss und genoss hier die herrliche creolische Küche bei Cyrill
im Hot Rock (https://www.facebook.com/Hot-Rock-Cafe-Take-Away-107646214301557) oder den leckeren gegrillten Fisch im The Crown (http://www.crownbeachseychelles.com). : )

The wonderful days ended with a same dinner… Now that I had a car, the
choice of restaurants was significantly larger, so I could quickly take the 5.5
km to the cozy Surfers Beach (http://www.surfersbeach.sc) and back. Nevertheless, if I can, I do everything
on foot like at home and so I enjoyed the great Creole cuisine at Cyrill’s Hot
Rock (https://www.facebook.com/Hot-Rock-Cafe-Take-Away-107646214301557) the delicious grilled fish at The Crown (http://www.crownbeachseychelles.com). : )
