Sunjoy

entpuppte sich als Pflanzenkenner und -liebhaber... er zieht in seinem Garten
nicht nur Aloe Vera, Auberginen, Chilli, Gurken und Blumen heran, sondern weiss
auch in der ayurvedischen Heilkunst Bescheid! Als er meine Wunden sah,
spazierte er in den nächsten Wald und suchte einen Neembbaum... Dr. Sunjoy erklärte
mir, wie ich aus diesen Blättern Tee zubereite, den ich trinke und meine Wunden
damit auswasche. Die erste Tasse war ein echt harter Kampf, so extrem bitter
schmeckt er - er erinnerte mich an Noni in Tahiti (https://franziskaaeschbach17.blogspot.com/2017/07/14-20072017-punaauia-tahiti.html).
Ich werde
sehr gut versorgt hier im Le Tropique Villa: Therese steht mir jederzeit mit
Tat und Rat zur Verfügung, so bin ich sehr froh um ihre Salben. Jeanine schafft
jeden Tag ein blitzblankes Zuhause und reinigt zuerst alle Tür- und andere
Griffe wenn sie reinkommt… zudem hat sie meine Wäsche gebügelt! Dr. Sunjoy kann
einfach alles, er ist für den Garten und Umschwung zuständig, wäscht die Wäsche
und hilft wo er kann, so auch bei der Reinigung der Apartments, wenn sie wie jetzt
gut besetzt sind. Und von allen werde ich reichlich mit Obst und Gemüse aus dem
Garten beschenkt! : )
Sunjoy of Le Tropique Villa (http://www.tropiquevilla.com) turned out to be a plant connoisseur and lover... he not only grows aloe vera, eggplants, chilli, cucumbers and flowers in his garden, but also knows about Ayurvedic medicine! When he saw my wounds, he walked into the nearest forest and looked for a neemb tree... Dr. Sunjoy explained to me how I make tea from the leaves, which I drink and use to wash out my wounds. The first cup was a really tough fight, it tastes so extremely bitter - it reminded me of Noni in Tahiti (https://franziskaaeschbach17.blogspot.com/2017/07/14-20072017-punaauia-tahiti.html).
I am very well looked after here at Le Tropique Villa: Therese is always available to give me advice and help, so I am incredibly happy to receive her ointments. Jeanine creates a sparkling clean home every day and first cleans all door and other handles when coming in... she also ironed my laundry! Dr. Sunjoy just can do everything, he is responsible for the garden and landscaping, washes the laundry and helps wherever he is needed, including cleaning the apartments if they are well occupied, as is the case now. And I get plenty of fruit and vegetables from the garden from all of them! : )

An diesen
extrem heissen Tagen hielt ich mich morgens fit mit 1 1/2 Stunden Yoga - Danke
Monika Dittli! : ) - sowie Jogging entlang dem langen, flachen Strand und Schwimmen
im herrlichen Meer von Grand Anse. Hier gibt es fast keinen Abfall; zum einen
gibt es einige Leute, die die Strände säubern und dann hat Praslin nur 7000
Einwohner… Diese leben vom Tourismus, die jetzt fehlen und auch hier die
Menschen zum Umdenken zwingen. Bisher hörte ich niemand sich beklagen, ich
denke die meisten geniessen einfach erst mal ihre gewonnene Zeit… : ) Auch die
Regierung hat kürzlich das erste Mal seit der Unabhängigkeit vor 43 Jahren gewechselt
und es besteht grosse Hoffnung, dass eine Rückkehr zur Natur und ihren Produkten
stattfindet (statt Import mit viel Plastik)… vor lauter Fokus auf die
professionelle Arbeit mit Touristen hatte man dazu gar keine Zeit!?
On these extremely hot days, I kept myself fit with 1 1/2 hours of yoga in the morning - thanks Monika Dittli! : ) – as well as jogging along the long, flat beach and swimming in the beautiful sea of Grand Anse. There is almost no waste here; on the one hand there are some people who clean the beaches and on the other hand Praslin only has 7000 inhabitants... They all live from tourism, what is now missing and consequently people also here are forced to rethink. So far I haven't heard anyone complain, I think most of them just enjoy the time they have now... : ) The government also changed recently for the first time since independence 43 years ago and there is great hope that a return to nature and its products will take place (instead of importing with a lot of plastic)... maybe because of the sheer focus on professional work with tourists they didn't have the time!?

Und dann
war noch Oded, ein junger israelischer Tourist… Wie ich bereits erwähnt habe, besteht
für Israeli momentan keine Quarantänenpflicht und es hat einige von ihnen auf
den Inseln. Oded ist seit 3 Tagen hier und ich hab ihn nur mit dem Handy auf
dem Liegestuhl rumhängen sehen… in einem Gespräch erfuhr ich, dass er nichts
von Praslin gesehen hatte, nicht mal das 5 km entfernte Vallée de Mai! Ich bot
ihm sogar an ihn hinzufahren, aber er war zu nichts zu bewegen. Als er am Sonntag
Mittag in voller Montur auf der Liege hinter seinem Handy sass und 2 Stunden
auf seine Abfahrt wartete, konnte ich und auch Therese es nicht verkneifen ihm
einen Tritt in den Hintern zu geben: Therese organisierten seine Abholung im
Vallée de Mai und ich fuhr ihn hin! Auf dem Weg sagte ich ihm, er solle doch
mal rausschauen und beobachten wie sich die Landschaft verändert je höher und
tiefer wir in den Urwald kommen statt ständig in sein Handy zu schauen – er tat
es!
Da ich
schon mal unterwegs war, beschloss ich eine Inselrundfahrt zu machen: 50 km auf
der 12 x 5 km kleinen Insel! Ich wollte unbedingt nochmals schnorcheln gehen und
suchte die besten Plätze der Insel auf. In der Anse Lazio war das Meer zu heftig,
so dass ich mein Glück in der fabelhaften Anse Boudin versuchte – und prompt
schwamm mir eine Schildkröte vor die Linse und ich hatte noch grösseres Glück,
dass eines der Fotos einigermassen rauskam! Die Stunde im Wasser tat auch
meinen Wunden gut: Desinfektion durch Salz… Manchmal habe ich echt das Gefühl, dass meine Haut so aussieht wie unser schlecht behandelter Planet Erde...

And then there was Oded, a young Israeli tourist... As I have mentioned
earlier, Israelis currently do not need quarantined and there are some of them
on the islands. Oded has been here for 3 days and I only saw him hanging out on
the lounge chair with his cell phone… in a conversation I learned that he
hadn't seen anything of Praslin, not even the Vallée de Mai, 5 km away! I even
offered to drive him there, but he couldn't be moved. When he sat on the
lounger behind his cell phone in full gear on Sunday lunchtime waiting 2 hours
for his departure, I and Therese couldn't help kicking him in his ass: Therese
organized his pick-up in the Vallée de Mai and I drove him there! On the way I
told him to look outside and watch how the landscape changes the higher and
deeper we get into the jungle instead of constantly looking into his cell phone
- he did!
Since I was already on the road, I decided to go for an island tour: 50
km on the 12 x 5 km small island! I wanted to go snorkelling and went to the
best places on the island. In Anse Lazio the sea was too rough, so I tried my
luck in the fabulous Anse Boudin - and yes, a turtle swam in front of my lens
and I was even more lucky that one of the photos came out to some extent! The
hour in the water was also good for my wounds: disinfection with salt... Sometimes I really have the feeling that my skin looks like our bad treated planet earth...
